“We’re all struggling, yet we’re all struggling to make it appear like we’re not struggling!- Allgroanup.
It’s easy to say that my generation wants to sleep and wake up in a new bug….slow down. Let’s back track. You’re part of the millennial if you’re born between 1980 and 1994. While Gen Z is the generation after millennial. That established. Let’s press play.
Faith, self and a freaking job could be our priorities and having to understand these basics would go on to form a better part of our growth and life. And oh I almost forgot boy and lady problems.
Recent trend is summarised as “growing up ain’t easy”. Maybe we wouldn’t have let evolution happened. But reality called and my generation picked. It’s like waking up to employment issues, self discovery, debts, work life balance, clinical anxiety, depression and a much wider cultural shift (we could even leave the government out for a while) and there is still so much to do and think about.
“The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind”. – Lee Lacoca
Welcome to my generation where we feel more connected when apart and disconnected when together. It’s not meant to be an ish cause we’re in the process of living. It’s global and it’s all good.
This is how we deal and overcome these challenges.
What we engage with is often a representation of ourselves, our values, and our expectations.
Funny how generalization comes in to play. It’s more of a united we stand and divided we fall ish. Someone said asking ourselves the hard questions makes it easy to approach life and make choices. And nah, I’m not going to go all who am I, where am I going to kinda speech. Though very important. You’d get a clear sense of direction.
We are the generation of self starters, self-learners, and self-motivators and will stop at nothing to make a mark on the world. Asking the right questions is the best way to keep adapting and moving further into your purpose, instead of further away. So ask those questions.
A signature sauce that can’t be dubbed.
We’ve got different spice. We’ve got different offers, various products, values, services, a distinct flavour we bring to the world that no one else has. With way too many problems to be tackled in our society and world at large, we’ve got to append that signature.
We give ourselves the opportunity-
To learn, fail, create, connect and build. Humanity has always looked to its youth for innovation, but today it’s happening faster and more frequent than ever before. We look to the past to see where we’re coming from and we live in the present to know where we are. And the future, to know where we’re on to. To know that we can give ourselves the grace and space to fail without thinking of self as a failure makes winning an everyday challenge. Moments by moments, it will be done effortlessly.
I hope we get to give ourselves the opportunity to thrive, to give, love, forgive, live, learn, fail, win, breathe, connect, and build. That we help one another with these opportunities created. To feel and be human.
It’s 11:55am on a lovely Friday morning as I conclude this. Hoping we minimise stereotypical assumptions of one size fits all for millennials. Our stories are different. We’d get to see the bigger picture.
Stay Confident Lovelies,
